Facebook hates the Nationals and Orioles
Big weekend for my two baseball teams. The Orioles swept the Red Sox in a crazy 17-inning game where DH Chris Davis pitched two innings (and won) and now have the best record in baseball. The Nationals took two out of three from the Phillies, and the final game was nationally televised with beanballs and stealing home being prominently featured. As you would expect, my Facebook feed had numerous...

It is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma.
– Winston Churchill, discussing how the Redskins could go 2-0 against the Super Bowl champs and 3-11 against the rest of the league.

Today is the 10th Anniversary of my 30th Birthday
Ten years ago, I turned 30.
The main thing I remember about my 30th birthday was how frickin’ depressing it was. Not in the normal, wow-I’m-not-young-anymore sort of way, I mean really, hard core depressing. That day, September 14, 2001, was the National Day of Mourning for the 9/11 attacks. Being unemployed, I sat at home and watched the service in the National Cathedral and...

Jason Woodmansee 2.0 (maybe 3.3.1)
Back in February, I wrote about how I was testing the free agent market. This, of course, was a fancy way of saying I got laid off, but felt the need to be clever about it. Nonetheless, I am pleased to announce that I will starting a new job at Qualcomm on Monday - I’ll be leading digital marketing and social media for their Snapdragon mobile processor. Check it out on the website, or on Facebook....

Foo Fighters - “Walk”
This is great - I love the “Falling Down” homage. You can also see it at walk.foofighters.com - this may be the best song on their new album.

Eazy-E Once Had Lunch With the President
One thing that came up in this whole Common “controversy” was that Eazy-E, of N.W.A. fame, once had a meal with the President. Many people remember this from Ice Cube’s diss track “No Vaseline” where he repeats the phrase “I never had dinner with the President,” presumably separating himself from Eazy-E’s now “establishment”...

Off to see the Wizards
Tonight, I’ll be going to the Wizards-Clippers game tonight at the Staples Center. The last time I went, the teams were a combined 33-104 and looking new and creative ways to win the Blake Griffin lottery. This year is totally different - the Clips have Griffin, the Wiz have John Wall - and they’re a combined 44-96. Hmmm.
Anyway, the odd thing about going to a Clippers game is...

Sweet Home, California - 3/21/01
[Ten years ago, I moved from Washington, DC to San Diego, CA. I am re-publishing the things I wrote during that move exactly ten years after they happened. Read the intro here.]
Like many before us, we have braved the elements, the grueling hardships, and the spotty cell phone coverage to share in the Manifest Destiny of this nation. We have made it to Carlsbad, California - our new home.
