Off to see the Wizards

Tonight, I’ll be going to the Wizards-Clippers game tonight at the Staples Center. The last time I went, the teams were a combined 33-104 and looking new and creative ways to win the Blake Griffin lottery. This year is totally different - the Clips have Griffin, the Wiz have John Wall - and they’re a combined 44-96. Hmmm.

Anyway, the odd thing about going to a Clippers game is you’re often reminded that you’re not at a Lakers game. It’s the same building, the seats are purple, there are banners & retired numbers in the rafters. Imagine if the Wizards shared the building with a much more successful franchise (ok, other than the Caps) - it’s always on your mind that you’re at the second choice.

My main hope is that at some point in the game, they bring out a second basket for JaVale McGee and a car for Blake Griffin so they can re-create the dunk contest. It will probably be more interesting that watching the Wizards’ terrible defense…
