Jason Woodmansee 2.0 (maybe 3.3.1)

Back in February, I wrote about how I was testing the free agent market. This, of course, was a fancy way of saying I got laid off, but felt the need to be clever about it. Nonetheless, I am pleased to announce that I will starting a new job at Qualcomm on Monday - I’ll be leading digital marketing and social media for their Snapdragon mobile processor. Check it out on the website, or on Facebook. The gadget nerd part of me is very excited about being in the tech industry.

I’m also starting another venture that will keep me still in the sports industry. Well, “venture” may be overstating it a bit, but I’m starting up a blog about golf equipment called Golf Gear Garage. There are a lot of great golf blogs out there, and I’m looking forward to officially joining that community. There’s not a lot on the site yet (hey, I’m just getting started), but stay tuned for more updates on that front.

I’d like to thank everyone for the support over the last few months - I’m amazed at how much people were willing to help. Perhaps most importantly, my wife gets to fire me as the stay-at-home house husband, which I was terrible at.
Thanks again to everyone, and look for me to start posting about marketing and mobile more often…

It’s time to test the free agent market

One door closes and another opens…

This week marked the start of a new journey…

OK, maybe I don’t need to get all flowery and poetic here - I’m looking for a new job. Because of economic conditions my most recent employment, which was to run the internal marketing group for a sporting goods company, has ended rather unexpectedly. So here I stand, recommendations from my former employer in hand, ready for my next step.

I will admit that I’m still not exactly sure what my next step will be — other than I’m sure it will be awesome. Look for further developments in this space.

In the meantime, take a look at my LinkedIn profile or send me an email.  I’m looking forward to the next challenge.
